I absolutely love doing nightclubs, sweet 16s and private events.. why? cuz it makes me a better DJ! period!
Some "Wedding DJs" proclaim that they only do weddings.. which is ok i guess. but put that "only wedding dj" in a nightclub and watch him go down in flames! he doesnt have the talent to dj the nightclub.. it just wont work! and guess what, if you take an "only nightclub dj" and put them in a wedding environment... its not gonna work either. because they have never done a wedding either. it does take a certain type of person to wedding.. or nightclubs. or if youre lucky..and talented enough, YOU CAN DO BOTH!
But remember people.. a DJ who plays more.. is typically better, he has experience, hes done it, hes been there before!! whether its weddings, nightclubs, sweet 16s... whatever the case.. every time that dj learns more after each gig
Most people getting married are young.. and vibrant! and they go to the bars and nightclubs! so its def not a bad thing to have you wedding dj play in bars and nightclubs on the side!! you are getting a DJ who knows how to get people dancing.. and thats half the battle at a reception!

Now are they gonna play what you hear in the bar at your reception? well hopefully not.. and this is something you must be prepared to talk to them about! i truly know the difference between a bar gig and someones special day! this is what makes me unique! the fact that i can go into a nightclub and absolutely kill it.. go to a sweet 16 and have the kids dancing the whooooole night! and then go to a wedding and show my clients a great time!

I always ask both the parents and the birthday person what they want out of their special social event. lets face it.. you only turn 16 once! and if your lucky enough to have a party thrown for you.. you and your parents better do some planning!
Grand Entrance? you should be asking yourself this.. do we want do to a grand entrance. are you a diva? do you like the spot light being on you when you walk in? then maybe this is for you..
Balloons? wow.. personally i do not liek balloons at a teen events, everyone likes to pop balloons and scare the heck out of the girls.. and it creates a mess! this is something you MUST consider! do you want to hear popping noises all the time? because it will happen!
Photos? i have a professional camera and i dabble with photography! i love it.. if i wasnt a DJ i would be a photographer! having pictures to remember this event is something to consider.. but its not a cheap date! most photographers command $400 and up for something like this....
photo booth? typically photo booths can run anywhere from $300-$600 and more.. depending on what you want to do.
Games? this is something that mixes it up a little. doing quick little minute to win it games breaks up the night! and adds more to the event. call it "a twist"

I recently had the honor of djing the East High School Prom!
A lot of DJs have complained about doing this high schools prom stating that "it wasnt easy.. the kids kept bugging them for songs that they never heard of"
Well at first i was nervous hearing all these DJs making these kind of allegations. But to be honest.. I CRUSHED IT! I even had fun doing it, and the students of East High loved the music and the way i played it! i guess this is what separates me as a DJ in Erie! and im happy to say that!
If you can do the prom of east High School.. all others are gonna be piece of cake! cheers!
