Ok,
So I was the DJ at a wedding this past Saturday for 2 special ladies! yes... 2 females. They got hitched in NY and had their reception on the beach, right off of Beach 1 at Presque Isle State Park in Erie, Pennsylvania
But let me first start by saying that I was in a recent accident, I was boating with a friend of mine lost my balance and fell off the boat and hit the cleat(its the metal part that you tie the rope to anchor the boat to the dock) well I tried catching myself and landed on that, split my foot wide open and put 12 stitches in it! OUCH! what a great way to end my 4th of July!! lol. So it was no fun running thru the sand setting everything up! but I still had a job to do and nothing was gonna detour from that!
So the wedding went very well! started off playing some jazz for the cocktail hour, and then lead right into dinner hour with the classics(frank sinatra, dean martin, michael buble) you know.. the greats! I even had one of the brides recommend some great music that served its purpose for dinner music as well! [Booty swing - Parov Stellar] wow! what great music! you have to look it up! I cant wait to get more of this stuff! Anyways.. after that I went into some great blues that a friend suggested that I get and wow that went over so well! so many blues lovers there! it wasnt your typical blues either, it was upbeat and fun, PLUS I did a great job at picking the right ones! now during the blues music, the dad came out with some floating lanterns, and asked everyone to come and light them up and have them sail away! so cool. gonna do this at the end of my reception!!!
On to the rest of the night, after the cake cutting.. I went right into some great disco music! had the dance floor packed, or should I say beach floor(hahaha) and kicked the rest of the night away with some great current music liek Florida, Jennifer Lopez, Usher and Pitbull. just some great wedding dance music!
Now.. they didnt do the traditional stuff like the Father/Daughter Mother/Son dance, and thats fine.. thats their choice. i dont push the issue with any of clients.. they dont want to do a certain formality.. fine. does it take away from the whole experience.. sure. but not my call :)
So they did the cutting of the cake, I was super happy that al least did that! and I think they really enjoyed it! after thinking about it!
I didnt get too many pics because they asked not too, some people dont mind.. and some people do! I will post what i have and hope everyone enjoyed this little blog about my wedding experience!
